HTSAlert

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

HTSAlert is a tariff-monitoring service. We collect the minimum data needed to run it and never sell your data. This page explains what we store, why, and who processes it.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address (for sign-in and alert delivery) and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile image.
  • Watchlist: the HTS codes and countries of origin you choose to monitor, plus optional labels and import values you enter.
  • Alert & usage records: the tariff changes we detect on your codes and basic product-usage events.
  • Billing: if you subscribe, your subscription status and a Stripe customer/subscription ID. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store them.
  • Telegram (optional): if you connect Telegram, your Telegram chat ID, used only to deliver alerts.

How we use it

To operate the service: authenticate you, monitor your codes, send alerts by email and (optionally) Telegram, provide the in-app feed and CSV audit export, process subscriptions, and improve the product. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

Processors we rely on

  • Stripe — payments and subscription billing.
  • Resend — transactional and alert email delivery.
  • Telegram — optional alert delivery, only if you connect it.
  • PostHog, Umami, Sentry — privacy-conscious product analytics and error monitoring, with inputs masked where feasible.
  • Cloudflare & our hosting — serving the site and storing your data.

Tariff rate data is sourced from the public USITC Harmonized Tariff Schedule and the Federal Register.

Retention & your rights

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your watchlist entries at any time, and you may request account deletion or a copy of your data by contacting us. We’ll remove your personal data except where we must retain records for legal or billing reasons.
